Items to Consider When Purchasing a RV for Fulltime RVing
Most important item to remember when purchasing an RV for fulltime RVing is that this will be your HOME. You have to ensure you will have all the ammentities that you will need. Here are a few items you may not have thought about.
Size of RV
Going back to the most important items, you need to have the space required for you and your family to live comfortably. Do you want a travel trailer that is just 14ft. or do you need office space or extra sleeping accommodations? Define your lifestyle and then pick the size that fits those parameters. Don't forget to think about slideouts. Many RVs now have up to 5 slideouts to allow for more storage/space.
With a towable RV, the very next thing to consider is the towing capacity of your tow vehicle. Get out the owner’s manual and read it. Whatever it says in there will be the maximum weight you can tow.
Now that you know what your weight limitation is, you can go shopping to see what is available in your weight range.
Consider Your Hobbies & Activities
This should be the second most important items to consider. What makes you happy? What do you want to try/continue now that you are RVing full time?
Our hobbies and activities that we enjoy doing in the house are the same things we enjoy doing in an RV. We had to know what equipment we would need to store in a smaller space, so we could shop with confidence and know that we would have a place to keep it all.
Again, this RV is now your home. Don't get lost in the beautiful fireplace because you didn't plan your needs first. Make sure you make the right decision so your lifetime in your RV is the best years of your life. We are here to help you with those decisions when you are ready.
